What is National Vertical Marathon?
National Vertical Marathon ( NVM ) is an alternative approach to conventional flat road marathons. It is a sport that takes advantage of the many skyscrapers in Singapore.
Given its unique nature, NVM has attracted remarkable response over the past 20 years since its inception in NTU Sports Club in 1994. It has even generated a loyal following of climbing enthusiasts.
NVM 2015 is proudly organised by the 21st NVM Organising Committee. We seek to bring the simple sport of stair-climbing to every sportsman and non-sportsman. Like always, we also hope to reach out to the mass public and the various institutions.
NTU Sports Club
NTU Sports Club was officially launched in the Year 1991 with the aim of promoting all kinds of sports activities in NTU. Sports Club is under the umbrella of the Students' Union as a non-academic constituent club, together with other academic clubs belonging to the various schools.
The Sports Club's management committee is into its 24th year running for 2014/2015.

1) What is the rank of perceived fitness for?
Those who rank their fitness level lower would be flagged off first, to ensure that they get more time to finish their climb. Those who rank higher would flag off later to ensure that they do not have to wait too long for the sunrise.
2) What happens if I’m afraid I will be too slow and will miss the sunrise?
You may rank your perceived fitness lower upon registration, to indicate your preference that you would like to be flagged off earlier.
3) How early will I have to report?
We seek your understanding that to catch the sunrise, participants will have to arrive early. Participants’ reporting timings will be between 5:50am to 6:00am (may be subject to changes).
4) What happens if I am late?
Should you arrive later than your reporting timing, you will be flagged off once all other participants have been flagged off or upon arriving, whichever is later. We seek your understanding that being late would increase your chances of missing the sunrise, and highly recommend you arrive as per your reporting timing allocated to you.
5) What happens if I cannot finish the climb before sunrise?
We would be giving participants who have not finished their climb by 7:00am, the option of falling out, and taking the elevator to the top to catch the sunrise. This however, would render the participant ineligible for the Finisher medal.
6) What happens if I miss the sunrise?
We have calculated the average time necessary for participants to complete the climb, and added an extra 15-minute buffer. This ensures that through past statistics, 95% of all participants would be able to complete their climb before the sun rises. We will also be taking precautionary measures to ensure all our participants would complete the climb before sunrise. However, in the event that this small probability should occur, we will not be held responsible and would like to seek your understanding that there may have been certain unforeseen circumstances.
7) Do I stand to win prizes from being the fastest in this category?
No, this is a non-competitive category.
